Zev Jacobson – Director

Zev is the founder and Director of Israel Maven Tours. Born in Johannesburg, South Africa, he came to Israel to study for a year, fell in love with the country and decided to make it his home. Possessed with an unfailing positive outlook, a keen understanding of people and their needs, and a genuine warmth and concern, Zev has built a business where close relationships are built with employees, suppliers and clients alike. Years of working with a wide spectrum of tourists to Israel has taught Zev the importance of individualizing the experience and allowing participants to have an active role in discovering their personal connection to the country.He is a firm believer that when it comes to getting the program right – no effort is too great to be expended, and no problem insurmountable.

In order to keep his finger on the pulse, Zev still finds the time to personally guide wherever possible. He lives in Bet Shemesh with his wife, Sada, and four gorgeous kids.

J.J Jonah – CEO

J.J. is a talented educator and administrator who left a promising career in high-tech to pursue his life-long passion – sharing his love for Israel with both adults and youth. A former combat soldier and commander in the Golani Brigade, J.J. is a natural leader and connects easily with people from a wide range of backgrounds. For the past ten years J.J. has overseen the Israel Programs for thousands of students through United Synagogue Youth (USY). He also served as a shaliach (emissary) for USY and the Jewish Agency in the West Coast for two years, during which time he pioneered innovative programs and served as Director of Education at Camp Ramah.

J.J. serves currently as the CEO of Israel Maven Tours but still guides when his schedule allows. JJ lives in Jerusalem with his wife Shira and three children and looks forward to crafting an Israel Experience to suit your needs.
